The HydroPad solution ‒ the adiabatic pre-cooling system with humidification pads ‒ offers you the perfect balance of performance and functionality.
The "lawn sprinkler" concept is frequently applied to installations, seriously affecting the heat exchanger.
Using the HydroPad system instead provides maximum service life and hygiene. Using the HydroPad, the heat exchanger does not come into contact with water.
In case the "lawn sprinkler" solution is not properly applied, water is quite often distributed directly over the heat exchanger for excessively long periods, resulting in calcification and corrosion, and finally in the destruction of the heat exchanger. And all this usually happens way before the actual service life of the latter expired.
The HydroPad offers maximum service life of the unit and comes with full manufacturer warranty. What's more, water is a principal source of legionella, but these are not an issue with the HydroPad. In this regard, we do not want to look at the hygiene of a "lawn sprinkler" in greater detail.

Not at all!
Our controllers detect too low temperatures and drain the system automatically.
We provide a floating contact as well as the corresponding flow chart for draining the water supply line to the HydroPad system ‒ so no problem whatsoever.

As is the case with the already installed dry cooler, condenser or gas cooler, dirt accumulates also on the humidification pads.
Here's a tip:The rule "pollen season is the season for cleaning" applies also here, at least in case you want to get the most out of your system.
In order to achieve optimum operation of the cooling or refrigeration system from an energetic and performance point of view, you should keep the heat exchanger and humidification pads clean and check them for damage.
Then you are ready for summer!

You need sufficient space to mount the HydroPad system to your dry cooler, condenser or gas cooler.
The design of our solution is as flexible as possible, creating the basis that allows us to equip almost all of your applications with it.
The adiabatic pre-cooling system − the pad system − is mounted at the air inlet of the unit so that the unit's dimensions become somewhat larger.
However, thanks to maximum flexibility and the modular design, individual system components can be mounted where your installation on site allows it.
Simply send us, in case of doubt, some pictures of your dry cooler, condenser or gas cooler, preferably including the surroundings, and we'll explore the possibilities together with you.
We can handle this!

Yes, you can certainly do that.
Mounting the system directly to the dry cooler, condenser or gas cooler would be the easiest and fastest way ‒ but thanks to the modular design of the solution, separate mounting is also possible.
Just make sure the pad system is mounted firmly. And please make sure to sufficiently "seal off" the space between the heat exchanger and the HydroPad system against infiltrated air for maximum performance.
The sealing-off prevents infiltrated air from being sucked in, and it prevents that an insufficient amount of pre-cooled air is supplied to the heat exchanger, which would reduce the gains in performance.
You aren't sure about what is possible in your case? Simply send us some pictures of your dry cooler, condenser or gas cooler, preferably including the surroundings, and we'll find a solution together with you.
We are flexible!

Yes, it works in many cases.
If you operate a dry cooler, condenser or gas cooler that is not explicitly part of the specified series, the concept can still be applied to your unit in most cases.
We offer this HydroPad retrofit solution − the adiabatic pre-cooling system − for selected series. However, other series are usually different from those only in some respects.
Separate mounting (see separate FAQ entry) or minor mounting adjustments at the unit on site will usually do the trick. Voilà, your unit is equipped with our solution and it works perfectly.
Make sure to "seal off" the space between the heat exchanger and the HydroPad system as far as possible and all around to prevent infiltrated air from being sucked in. And please refer to the separate FAQ entry concerning "Space conditions: separate mounting".

What we offer here is a retrofit solution, and of course we took into account that access might be difficult on the spot.
As the HydroPad solution is modular in design, transportation to the installation site is very easy.
There's no need for a crane for mounting.
Thanks to the modular design, the individual modules and structural parts are very compact and easy to handle, so we are highly flexible when it comes to transporting the system to your heat exchanger.
Everything is so handy that it can be carried upstairs and fits into any lift. And, if necessary, the ready-made modules can be further disassembled.
It's as simple as that!

Every unit requires a water supply.
You simply use normal mains water.
Complex, costly and high-maintenance water treatment is not necessary.
Smooth operation requires a water pressure of at least 2.0 to a maximum of 4.5 bar.
Keep this in mind for your local water supply and drain the water supply line as required to be prepared for frost. We provide you with a floating contact for the connection of the drain valves in the water supply line.
Don't worry about the control system! Take into account the specifications on the required water quality to ensure the maximum service life of the system.

Yes, because excess water is then drained in a controlled way and can't accumulate on the ground near the unit.
This prevents ponding, calcification and algae growth. It is just a minimum amount of excess water flowing into the drain.
This water served only to thoroughly humidify the pads, to ensure the maximum service life and proper cleaning of the pads, and to bring out the best performance of your plant.
By the way: Via our control system and the control signal of the fans, our solution always knows exactly how much water can evaporate.

Every unit requires electrical connection.
Please ensure sufficient fuse protection (6A type C, max. 10A gL/gG) and dimensioning (at least 3 x 1.5 mm²) of the electrical supply.
This feed line can be laid either from the existing control panel at the unit itself (e.g. GPD) or from an external source.
For an optimum water and energy-saving operation of the HydroPad system, you provide the control signal of the fans (0...10V for EC fans or a digital enabling signal for AC fans).
This signal communicates to our controller the current load requirement of the heat exchanger.

That's a piece of cake!
The modular design and our own control system, adapted to the respective application, allows the operator to commission the system in next to no time.
After this, the system operates independently. It ensures that everything runs smoothly, that as little water and energy as possible is consumed and that frost is not an issue.

Adiabatic pre-cooling systems equipped with humidification pads (including the HydroPad solution) fall, in principle, within the scope of the 42nd Federal Emission Control Regulation (42nd BImSchV).
The technical implementation of our HydroPad system gives the operator the possibility to apply for a special authorisation acc. to Section 15 / 42nd BImSchV.
We support you as our customer or operator by issuing a statement that you forward to the authorities. In this document, we as manufacturer confirm that our systems are tested for aerosol emissions.
This provides the basis for a special authorisation. Once the authority has granted you this special authorisation, your adiabatic dry cooling system is not subject to the regulation, and you can, from a legal point of view, continue to operate the plant as before.

Our adiabatic pre-cooling system with humidification pads − our HydroPad solution − is not subject to the ICPE 2921 regulation.
We support you as our customer or operator by issuing a statement that you forward to the authorities.
In this document, we as manufacturer confirm that our units with HydroPad do not fall within the category of plants classified for environmental protection acc. to ICPE 2921.
This in turn means your adiabatic dry cooling system is not subject to the regulation, and you can, from a legal point of view, continue to operate the plant as before. Please request our statement and we'll promptly forward it to you.
